MATCH TWO | UNITED STATES 49-0 ARGENTINA

The USA Women’s Sevens were again dominant against Argentina, scoring nine tries by five different players to make a strong statement on Day Two in Lima. Not every match will be this easy, however, as the United States were able to use polished fitness, good command of space and possession to control the game against an Argentinian side who didn’t necessarily have the same breadth and depth of experience in its group.

Nevertheless, Alena Olsen and Cheta Emba scored two tries a piece, while Naya Tapper added a hat trick. Emily Henrich scored her first national team try in sevens, already a well-known XVs player with the USA Women’s National Team, while Stephanie Rovetti also put one in the mix.

Defeating Argentina guaranteed a place in the Semifinals for the Women’s Eagles Sevens.

Tries: Alena Olsen (2), Cheta Emba (2), Naya Tapper (3), Emily Henrich, Stephanie Rovetti
Cons: Alena Olsen, Cheta Emba

MATCH THREE | UNITED STATES 38-0 COLOMBIA

The Women’s Eagles Sevens completed a full sweep in Pool A with a third commanding performance against Colombia. Four players crossed the tryline in Ariana Ramsey, Emily Henrich, Ilona Maher and Stephanie Rovetti. Ramsey scored her second hat trick of the weekend in what has been an exciting debut with the national team.

Following Colombia, the USA women confirmed a matchup with Brazil in the Semifinals tomorrow at 12:15 PM ET on ESPN’s family of networks. Fans are encouraged to visit usarug.by/PanAmRugby for a full list of broadcasts closer to kick off to find the appropriate stream.
