Dubbed the OMBAC 7s, eight men's clubs and four women's club battled it out at the SDCCU Stadium Practice Field in San Diego.

Belmont Shore Men are coming off a tremendous 15s season running all the way to the National Championship Game and missing the win by a mere point to Mystic River.  They kicked off their 7s season with a vengeance winning the Orange County Raven's 7s tournament on June 16.  They kept the momentum with a 34-7 win over Santa Monica in the OMBAC 7s Championship match securing both teams points toward a berth in the August 11-12 Club Sevens Championships.  The Belmont path at OMBAC 7s included a win over Oceanside Chiefs 26-7, Los Angeles Rugby 26-5, OMBAC-Blue 31-5, and the Championship game against Santa Monica.  Belmont Shore is a scoring dynamo with a total of 165-31 in those five matches.   The next Pacific South men's qualifier is the Sunsplash 7s in Long Beach on July 14.  Other men's club at the OMBAC 7s include OMBAC, Belmont Shore Gold, and Tempe Old Devils.  Both OMBAC and Belmont are trying to qualify two clubs for the Championships.

On the women's side, the San Diego Surfers defeated the SD Boogie Boarders in the OMBAC 7s final 19-5.  Their battles included a 29-10 win over SB Academy, a 28-0 shutout against a motley side, and a 33-7 win against their own Surfers2.  The next women's qualifier in the Pacific South is June 30 at the Santa Monica 7s.  Tempe Ninjas, a top 15s club, also contended at the OMBAC 7s and took fourth place.

In the Pacific South, the top two men's seeds will qualify for the Club Sevens Championships with the women having a single seed.
