Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Women's National Team in Palo Alto, California. This event raised nearly $15,000 to help send this amazing group of women to the World Cup this summer thanks to those that attended and those that couldn't make it, but showed their support through online contributions. Approximately 60 people attended the cottage party held at the home of Martha Tolles. Special guests included current national team players: Jossy Tseng, Katy Agustyn, Phoebe Boone, Sarah Walsh, Naima Reddick, and Ryan Carlyle; Head Coach of the Stanford Women's Basketball Team, Tara VanDerveer ; and several players from the '91 Women's World Cup team: Tara Flanagan, Tam Breckenridge, Barb Bond, and Jen Crawford.
Members of '91 team surprised the current players by presenting a check in the amount of $1,991. "The players were blown away by this unbelievably heartwarming and encouraging show of support,' said USA Rugby Trust's Executive Director, Nikki Wiederaenders. The check also came with words of wisdom, advice, and encouragement from these former trailblazing players.
