Women’s Division II
Carolinas/Georgia
The Savannah Shamrocks hosted the Columbia Bombshells beating them, 50-5. Amanda Fernandez led her clubs in tries (three, all in second half), followed by Taylor Schultz (two, one in each half). Tara Barrett, Renee McLane, and Danielle DeShaies also scored tries for the Shamrocks. Callie Woods scored the Columbia Bombshells only try.
True South
In the #1 v. #4 semi-final Saturday, the Knoxville Minx shut out the Memphis Flamingoes 55 to 0.
The Saturday’s second semi-final, #2 the Nashville Stone Lions squeaked by the #3 Louisiana Lagniappe 35 to 33.
In the True South Final Sunday, the #1 Knoxville Minx beat the #2 Nashville Stone Lions 39 to 17.
Men’s Division II
Carolinas/Georgia
In the north, The Southern Pines RFC defeated the Atlanta Renegades 29 to 19. In the south Saturday, the Atlanta Old White 27 beat the Charlotte RFC 27 to 10.
Florida
The Tampa Bay Krewe beat Boca Raton’s Buccaneers 24 to 8. For the Krewe, Matthew Finnesy, Sowani Asaeli Nabiau, and Dion Opperman each secured tries for Tampa Bay. Boca Raton’s Emosone Sergile earned his club its only try in the game.
Further south, in a clash of Miami’s rugby titans, the Miami Tridents defeated the Miami RFC 35 to 10. In the first half, the Tridents Philippe Ryser and Miguel Pena earned tries for their teams. After halftime, Jordan Hinojosa and Mateus Estrela also reached the try zone for the Tridents. The Miami RFC’s Borja Speulveda scored his team’s only try.
The Tampa Bay Krewe will face off against the Miami Tridents this Saturday for Florida’s Division II finals, which will take place in Wellington, Florida.
True South
In the first semifinal, the Nashville RFC defeated the Birmingham Vulcans 31 to 22. In Saturday’s other semifinal, New Orleans Rugbysurvived a much closer scare, sneaking by Chattanooga rugby 29 to 27.
In Sunday’s final matchup, the New Orleans soundly defeated Nashville 52 to 17.
Men’s Division III
Carolinas/Georgia
In the Carolinas semifinal, Cape Fear blanked the Clayton Bootleggers 67 to 0. In the Georgia semifinal, the Savannah Shamrocks defeated the Augusta Maddogs 54 to 12.
Florida
In the first of Saturday’s Florida semifinals, the Gainesville Hogs edged out Brevard’s Old Red Eye 31 to 29. The second saw the Palm Beach Panthers defea the Saint Petersburg Pelicans 46 to 24. Gainesville will compete against Palm Beach for the Florida Division III finals this Saturday in Wellington, Florida.
True South
In Sunday’s True South D-III Final, Pensacola defeated Memphis 36 to 19.
