Men’s Division I:

The Austin Huns were no match for the Austin Blacks this weekend, as last year’s Red River champions sailed by the Huns 67-17. Chris Ingate, Chris Baumann and Hayden Johnson all scored two tries in the winning effort.

Women’s Division I:

Houston Athletic claimed the Red River Division I title on the weekend with a convincing 72-5 win over the Dallas Harlequins. Nicole James bagged three tries in the win while, Nadira Smith, Bonnie Richardson and Leslie Schroder all scored braces.

Men’s Division II:

Only one game took place in the north competition, again between the Austin Huns D2 and Austin Blacks D2; and once again it was the Blacks D2 squad winning, 29-22. With ten minutes left in the game, the Huns D2 held a 17-15 lead, they looked to have put the nail in the coffin in the 72nd minute with another try. However, a penalty try in the 75th minute brought the game back to level pegging and a try on the whistle ensure the Blacks escaped with the victory.

In the South/Central competitions, the games were not as close. The San Marcos Greys made quick work of San Antonio Rugby D2, 29-5 and Houston Athletic were big winners over West Houston Lions D2, 73-7.

Red River Women’s Division II:

The San Antonio Riveters won their third game of the season, this time the victims were the Austin Valkyries D2 side. The Riveters jumped out to any early lead and never looked back, going on to win 31-22.

Men’s Division III:

A busy weekend in Men’s Division III play saw plenty of games take place. In the Central competition, The Austin Blacks D3 made it a clean sweep against the Austin Huns D3, winning, 56-6. The McAllen Knights also enjoyed a lopsided victory getting out ahead of the Corpus Christi Crabs 83-0.

In the North, Dallas Rugby D3 were on the wrong side of a 54-0 loss to Alliance rugby. The South saw Houston United D3 continue their undefeated season, as they took down second placed Galveston Rugby, 58-12.

Men’s Division IV:

No shortage of scoring in  Men’s Division IV this weekend, however, it was only done by one side in each game. The Tyler Hoplites cruised to a 127-0 win over the Dallas Diablos and Alliance Rugby D4 were, 50-12, winners over Abilene Rugby.
