Samurai Sportswear Pacific Rugby Premiership

Glendale Merlins hosted San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG) as both teams were still in search for their first win.  The home team struggled early, but found footing in a 43-22 decisive victory.  Belmont Shore Rugby dominated Life West early, handing the visiting Gladiators their first loss 49-24.  Rounding off the top three in the standings at 3-1-0 each was Santa Monica.  The Dolphins easily swam away from the visiting Old Mission Beach Athletic (OMBAC) 34-19.

Northern California Women’s Division II

San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG) hosted Berkeley All Blues and were in need of their first win.  SFGG remained in the game for most of the first half, but ultimately could not contain Berkeley, losing 10-41.

Men’s Division II

Vacaville Old Dogs hosted a tough San Jose Seahawks.  The Seahawks looked to close the gap on the top spot with a decisive 13-39 win. Bay Area Baracus travelled to Sacramento Capitals and led at half 15-5 with both teams looking for the elusive first win.  Sacramento took control of the second half, winning 25-15.  Diablo Old Gaels did their best at home against Santa Rosa Rugby when they almost came back in the end, but fell short 24-27, as Santa Rosa remains undefeated.

Portland Pigs put up a show against the visiting Chuckanut Bay Geoducks, trouncing the visitors 58-10.  Eastside Tsunami earn a bonus point and are currently tied for first with Boise United with a dominating win over Oregon Sports Union (ORSU) 36-0.  Up in Tacoma, the Nomads failed to mount a comeback falling to the visiting Valley Kangaroos 31-34.      

Men’s Division III:

Fresno Rugby travelled to Silicon Valley rugby, but couldn’t stop the surging home team.  The lead was exchanged often within the game, but Silicon Valley held it when it counted, 34-29.  San Joaquin-Stanislaus Rugby was upset at home by a strong performance from Redwood Empire Rugby, 31-34.  Visiting Napa Valley Rugby remained undefeated against Chico Mighty Oaks 20-50, while Google Rugby came away with a needed win against Olympic Club Rugby D3 20-50.  With this win, Google is showing pressure on Olympic Club and Napa Valley, the top two in the standings.  

Diablo Olde Gaels D3 had a hard time at home against Jesters Rugby 22-43, while San Jose Seahawks D3 remained undefeated on the road against Central Coast Beach dogs, 7-55.  Mendocino Steam Donkeys found a way to win their first against San Francisco Fog 65-12, while Marin Reds defeated Shasta Highlanders 0-58.  Bay Area Baracus B and Reno Zephyrs were tied at the half 12-12, but Baracus could not stop the surging Zephyrs as the home team came out on top 26-17. 

Bend Roughriders hosted Oregon Sports Union (ORSU) D3, easily handling the Jesters 55-0. 

Men’s Division IV

Seattle Quake B hosted a strong Budd Bay Buffaloes.  The Quake could not stop the stampede, losing 0-80
