Dear Members,

On behalf of USA Rugby, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year. As 2020 comes to a close and we look back on a significant year, I can only express appreciation for the purpose and support of the rugby community as we navigate new waters together. The past year was without a doubt challenging in both our rugby and personal lives, where we look forward to a new year with wide open arms.

While each year seems to be significant, 2020 will forever be a benchmark in the history of our game. From an unexpected halt in play to significant reform of the organization, the dedication displayed by players, coaches, referees, volunteers and stakeholders alike was evident of what makes American rugby so boundless. Many of us still struggle with a return to normalcy, through the lingering impacts of COVID-19. However, brighter days lie ahead. During this time, we ask all members of the rugby family to reach out to our counterparts in need, embrace the values of rugby and show support where we can.

2021 will prove to be just as significant with opportunity, for both USA Rugby and the community as a whole. The USA Eagles look ahead to an eventful summer and fall, complete with Olympic and Rugby World Cup podium potential. Competitions across Youth & High School, College and Senior Club similarly look ahead to new structures and support from empowered community stakeholders, focused on fostering growth in each corner of the country. USA Rugby understands that change is inevitable, however active support and integrity for the game are what make these changes meaningful.

With 2021 and a return to rugby in mind, USA Rugby continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, consult community organizations with effective means to hosting safe rugby activities and look ahead to new Return to Play Guidelines for the spring season. While we are similarly as eager to welcome rugby back as we know it - member welfare is, and will always be, first priority.

Thank you again for your membership and support in this coming year, we very much look forward to seeing you on the pitch again soon.

Best,

Ross Young
CEO, USA Rugby
