USA Rugby Training & Education Course Host Minimum Requirements For All In-Person Courses

Make a Course Request
  1. Identify venue / preferred date.
  2. Complete Course Request form »
  3. Applications are due a minimum of four weeks before the course date
  4. Ordinarily all courses run 8:30am-4:30pm
Pre-Course
  1. Communicate with your stakeholders about the course, encourage early registration.
  2. Encourage players to be on hand to participate in the practical components whenever possible.
  3. 15 players are required for Level 2 Coach on both days.
  4. Host is not responsible for lunch or refreshments.
  5. If Educator travel is required, assist Educator with airport transfers as needed.
  6. Prepare equipment as needed: balls, markers/cones, bibs, etc.
  7. The minimum registration number to deliver the course is needed seven days before the course.
Day of the Course
  1. Confirm facility opening time with the educator and ensure it is open at the appropriate time.
  2. Clearly identify all facilities for the educator, including technology equipment, practical space, and restrooms.
  3. Provide the educator with any necessary EAP or Evacuation plans for the facility.
  4. Make sure other users of the facilities are aware of the course and facilities required, and all groups have common expectations re: timings.
  5. Help direct attendees as they arrive/register.
  6. Ensure any walk-ups are politely asked to leave. Walk in registrations are not accepted.
  7. The host is required to have a representative on-site for the entire time of the course.
  8. Please keep in mind that your role is as the host not as an Educator.
Post Course
  • Provide feedback to the Regional Admin regarding the Educator and how the course went.

Minimum Host Requirements | For specific courses
Level 1 Referee (1 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
Level 2 Referee (2 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Technology enabled classroom.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
Level 1 Coach of Match Officials (CMO) (1 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
Level 1 Strength & Conditioning (1 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Technology enabled classroom.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
Level 1 Coaching (1 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
Level 2 Coaching (2 day)
  • Classroom suitable for the course size.
  • Technology enabled classroom.
  • Practical space as required by the educator based on the course schedule.
  • 15-20 players on hand to assist with practical delivery both days (2 hours per day) as required by the educator.
